Job summary
A maritime staffing agency in Sandton is looking for a skilled Laundry Technician to manage laundry operations on board. Responsibilities include operating laundry equipment, managing inventory, and training staff. Candidates should have at least 2 years of laundry experience in a maritime setting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Physical fitness and flexibility in hours are required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Laundry Technician, preferably in a maritime setting.
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy loads.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing machines.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of laundry supplies.
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold laundry according to established procedures.

- Communicate with ship's management and crew to ensure timely and efficient laundry services
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry facility at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Laundry Technician, preferably in a maritime setting
- Knowledge of laundry equipment and procedures
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads
- Valid certification in laundry operations is a plus
