A leading media company is seeking a talented Multimedia Journalist to join their team. You will be responsible for creating multimedia content, researching news stories, and producing video and audio interviews. The ideal candidate has excellent writing skills, a minimum of 2 years experience in journalism, and knowledge of South African media law. This role allows for remote work from any province in South Africa, offering flexibility while contributing to a vibrant newsroom environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a journalist with video/audio experience.
  • Knowledge of the Daily Sun audience and their interests.
  • Strong contact list.

Responsibilities

  • Create multimedia content for Daily Sun’s online platform.
  • Research and develop own news and feature ideas.
  • Deliver target market focused content daily.

Skills

Excellent writing skills
Sound news judgment
Knowledge of mobile video
Ability to take high quality pictures
Creativity
Understanding of South African media law

Education

Relevant diploma or degree in journalism
