Leading manufacturer based in Germiston requires an Electrical Maintenance Superintendent with experience in "heavy industrial environments." Completed Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential. GCC in Electrical will secure.
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the Electrical Maintenance Department, including upkeep of manufacturing electrical systems, managing the maintenance budget and resources, and assisting in the design and installation of new electrical systems.
- Manage multiple shifts of Maintenance Supervisors and Electricians.
- Design, implement, and maintain LV and MV electrical systems; possess extensive knowledge of substations, transformers, MCC systems, furnaces, vacuum circuit breakers, VSDs, PLCs, and protection relay systems.
- Provide PLC fault finding, fault diagnostics, root cause and failure mode analysis (RCA / FMEA), and condition monitoring.
- Offer expertise in switchgear solutions to improve system reliability and operational efficiency; optimize voltage distribution and integrate electrical systems for enhanced performance.
- Proficient in panel wiring.
- Develop and drive maintenance strategies, ensure safety, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet production goals and budgets.
- Monitor and control maintenance procedures for production lines to meet or exceed budgeted performance; participate in design meetings and coordinate with R&D on product changes and maintenance procedures.
- Lead safety initiatives, conduct training, and ensure compliance with good engineering practices, SABS codes, and OHS Act.
- Results-driven and qualified Electrical Engineer with 10+ years in heavy industry environments.
- Proficient in the design, implementation, and maintenance of LV and MV electrical systems.
- Extensive knowledge of substations, transformers, MCC systems, furnaces, vacuum circuit breakers, VSDs, PLCs, and protection relay systems.
- Skilled in PLC fault finding, fault diagnostics, RCA / FMEA, and condition monitoring.
- Expertise in switchgear solutions to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ability to optimize voltage distribution and integrate electrical systems for enhanced performance.
- Proficient in panel wiring with attention to detail in design and layout for functionality and maintenance.
- Ensure 100% compliance with statutory and internal electrical safety standards.
- Implement energy efficiency initiatives and optimize spares inventory to reduce costs.
- To stop any machine at any time if there is a potentially dangerous or life-threatening situation.
- To stop and prevent damage to equipment or machinery.
- To grant leave to subordinates.
- To authorize store requisitions.
- Matric
- BSc / B-Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering
- GCC Electrical will secure
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years post-qualification experience
- Minimum of 4 - 5 years supervisory/management experience
- Experience in "heavy industrial environments" is essential
