An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and proactive Fund Accountant to join a leading global financial services firm in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, handling the financial reporting of funds alongside internal reporting, cash management, document storage/management and project work. What you'll do:

• Review quarterly and annual financial statement packages including investor reporting
• Manage internal and external audit requests
• Coordinate delivery of investment documentation to fund administrator and depositary
• Respond to investor audit confirmations and ad hoc queries
• Assist with managing cash expenditures and maintain fund budgets with service providers and internal approvals
• Work closely with senior team members on accounting and operational issues

What you bring:

• Professional accountancy qualification CA(SA) / ACCA or equivalent
• 4-6 years of combined Big 4 and private sector or relevant work experience in fund accounting and private equity
• Understanding of valuation, consolidation, partner allocations, distribution waterfalls, IRRs, investor multiples
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage upwards.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt and learn quickly
