As a Journalist at our client, you will be responsible for researching, investigating, and reporting on news, trends, and developments within the freight, travel, tourism, energy, and ICT engineering sectors.

Your role includes pitching story ideas, attending industry events, conducting interviews with key figures, and crafting engaging articles for our publications such as Freight News, Travel News, Tourism Update, Energize, and EngineerIT.

Key Responsibilities

Research and reporting : Investigate and report on current news, trends, and developments impacting various niche industries within the B2B sector.

Interviewing : Conduct interviews with industry professionals, stakeholders, and key figures to gather insights and quotes for news articles.

Writing : Produce well-written, compelling news stories tailored to the specific audience of each publication.

Industry knowledge : Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the industries covered, including key regulations, market trends, and emerging technologies within freight, travel, energy, and ICT engineering.

Data interpretation : Analyse and interpret industry reports, technical documents, and data to produce accurate, insightful articles.

Collaboration and teamwork : Work closely with editors, fellow writers, and industry professionals, demonstrating strong collaboration and teamwork abilities to ensure high-quality content.

Meeting deadlines : Work efficiently to meet daily and weekly deadlines with precision and attention to detail.

Requirements

Proven experience in journalism or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing published articles.

Applications are welcome from writers with varying levels of experience who can deliver impactful B2B news stories.

Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Excellent command of the English language, with strong writing and editing abilities.

High attention to detail with the ability to self-edit effectively.

Ability to understand and report on niche industries.

Comfortable with networking and building relationships within various industries.

Enjoys working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.

Well-organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Self-motivated with a positive attitude and commitment to delivering quality work.

Owns a car and holds a valid driving license, as travel will be required for interviews and industry events.
