A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse (Medical Ward) based at Life Groenkloof Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic patient care and ensuring collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aligned with Company & Hospital strategic objectives.

Ensure effective quality management systems by:

• Attending and participating in Q programs and ensuring induction training is carried out
• Completing monthly Q evaluator cards and reporting to the shift leader or unit manager
• Participating in review and ward meetings to ensure conformance to QMS audit standards
• Complying with infection control standards and PPE procedures
• Adhering to safety measures

Ensure optimum operational efficiencies by:

• Maintaining correct stock administration
• Reporting patient movements on discharge or transfer accurately
• Proper usage and maintenance of equipment
• Minimizing and justifying personal absenteeism
• Working flexible hours to reduce agency costs and assist other departments

Ensure effective quality patient care by:

• Performing and completing assigned tasks to maximize patient care
• Maintaining patient hygiene, comfort, and safety as per care plans
• Using correct techniques and PPE to promote wound and fracture healing
• Monitoring and recording fluid intake
• Managing and preparing for surgical and diagnostic procedures

Manage relationships with customers by:

• Building and maintaining healthy relationships with internal and external customers
• Supporting new staff with orientation programs

• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Experience in Medical Ward nursing
• Current registration with the relevant professional body
• Understanding of the private healthcare industry (advantageous)
• Computer proficiency
• Driver’s license and ability to travel
