Job summary
A prominent food production company in Pietermaritzburg seeks a Hatchery Manager to oversee all aspects of production. Applicants should have a minimum of grade 12 education and at least 3 years of hatchery experience. Responsibilities include managing staff, ensuring compliance with quality and hygiene standards, and maintaining production efficiency. The role demands self-motivation, team collaboration, and the capacity to work irregular hours including weekends and night shifts.
Qualifications

- Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and control all hatchery production processes.
- Manage all labour-related issues to meet company objectives.
- Maintain product quality, hygiene and biosecurity standards.
Skills
Education
- Planning, organising, leading and control of all aspects and duties assigned to you in order to achieve production standards.
- Managing all labour related issues to ensure that all staff members are contributing to the objectives of the company.
- Maintenance of product quality, hygiene and biosecurity standards.
- Assisting management to implement and maintain the 20 Keys programme in the Hatchery.
- Minimum of a grade 12 education.
- Minimum of 3 years hatchery experience.
- Passionate, self‑motivated and performance driven.
- A team player with the ability to manage staff.
- Must be pro‑active and be able to work accurately and independently.
- Working hours are irregular and include weekend duties and night shift.
- Must live on site.
