Job summary

A regional government authority in Pretoria is seeking a project supervisor with extensive experience in construction. The successful candidate will oversee project operations, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and report on project progress. Job description

The position is responsible for executing, monitoring, controlling and reporting on the projects carried out within the division as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign daily work chores to staff on projects.
  • Supervise workmen on projects.
  • Maintenance of on-site stores and arrangement for timely procurement of materials.
  • Report on physical progress of the project and provision of monthly progress report.
  • Ensure Occupational Health Safety (OHS) compliance.
  • Actively contribute to Ministry activities where required.
Knowledge & Experience
  1. At least 7 to 8 years’ of working experience in a related field in the construction industry.
  2. Practical knowledge and Working experience in general construction and its statutory requirements.
  3. Ability to communicate and correspond with immediate supervisors and staff.
  4. Understanding of the OHS Acts and Regulations.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage a project from inception to completion.
Skills & Abilities
  1. Good command of communication skills with service orientated approach.
  2. Sound possession of physical fitness and agility and ability to read and interpret plans.
  3. Time Management, Analytical and problem solving skills.
  4. Ability to work with less supervision and with high level of accuracy.
  5. The incumbent must be a team player, motivate and train staff and capable of meeting strict deadlines.
  6. Must be computer literate.
Additional Information
PERSONAL CHARACTER AND ELIGIBILITY
