Overview

The Analyst will capture and analyse training and match footage for Sevens rugby, providing performance data and video resources to support coaching staff and senior analysts in their decision-making processes.

Responsibilities
  • Analysis and Coding: Develop and maintain a system to prioritise the analysis of matches and training sessions based on strategic importance.
  • Utilise sports video analysis software to identify, label, and log key elements in competitive matches and training sessions.
  • Create and maintain a database of player and team performance metrics from matches and training.
  • Analyse opponent matches and compile reports to inform game strategy and training focus.
  • Reporting and Communication: Compile and present analytical reports on match and training data for coaches, players, and management.
  • Provide real-time analysis during matches and training sessions, offering immediate feedback to coaching staff.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to develop specific analysis criteria for matches and training sessions.
  • Assist coaches in interpreting data and designing training sessions based on match analysis findings.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to provide capacity support to other High Performance teams as required.
  • Quality Control and Resource Management: Implement and oversee quality assurance measures for all coding and analysis processes.
  • Coordinate schedules and tasks for self and coder interns to efficiently cover all relevant matches and training sessions.
  • Support and liaise with other analysts to ensure a cohesive approach to team performance analysis.
  • Technical Operations: Capture, digitize, and organize video footage from matches, training sessions, and opponent analysis.
  • Manage and coordinate upgrades for all hardware and software used in match and training analysis.
Experience and Expertise
  • Certification in Sport (essential).
  • 3-5 years' experience in analysis or capturing of data (desirable).
  • Understanding of rugby (essential).
