Step Teachersin Manchester are recruiting for a Trainee Teacherfor an independent Alternative Education Provision in Trafford for secondary aged children with Social Emotional or Mental Health needs, SEMH.

Role:SEMH Trainee Teacher at independent Alternative Education Provision in Trafford.

Start:September 2025.

Contract:Permanent.

Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Excellent Pay:up to £24,000.

Paid to your usual scale rate from 13th week onwards.

10 minutes’ walk from Metrolink tram stop.

What you’ll do:

• Teach small, ability-based groups (max 10) in a nurturing setting.
• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH needs.
• Work closely with SEN staff, therapists, and senior leaders.
• Support and guide your class-based SEN TA’s.
• Track pupil progress and share meaningful feedback with families and leaders.
• Develop students' well-being, life skills, and resilience alongside academic progress.
• Foster a calm, consistent learning environment using positive behaviour strategies.
• Take part in regular CPD and whole-school development initiatives.
