ELECTRICAL QUALITY ENGINEER (fixed term contract of approximately 2 years)

Division: Quality Assurance

We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable automotive manufacturing employer for a ELECTRICAL QUALITY ENGINEER to join their Quality Assurance team, with a focus on purchased electrical components and harnesses.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that motor vehicle electrical components perform consistently to specification throughout the full lifecycle of each component. Key responsibilities include:

Responsibilities
  • Initiating and managing qualification programmes for new part introductions
  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying root causes of part deviations and implementing corrective actions across all lifecycle phases
  • Testing and evaluating electrical parts in line with defined specifications
  • Providing technical expertise on complete electrical parts with regard to material and functional performance
  • Initiating design improvements for complex issues related to electrical components and harnesses
  • Supporting quality assurance activities within the purchased parts environment
About You – Essential Requirements
  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within a manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of motor vehicle components, including their function, specifications, manufacturing processes, and testing methods
  • Strong technical knowledge of motor vehicle harnesses and electrical components
  • Proven application of quality tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D methodologies
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Ability to communicate and present effectively at all levels, both internally and externally (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities autonomously
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally at short notice
  • Valid driver’s licence
