Consolidation Manager

Grindrod South Africa is looking for a Consolidation Manager to manage the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of the Group's financial results in accordance with IFRS and company policies.

The role ensures timely and accurate group reporting for management, board, and external stakeholders, maintaining high governance and compliance standards expected of a listed entity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidated financial results.
  • Ensure accurate elimination of intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Maintain and update the group consolidation model and reporting structures.
  • Assist with preparation of interim and year-end published financial statements in compliance with IFRS, JSE Listings Requirements, and Companies Act.
  • Support preparation of board committee packs.
  • Manage audit deliverables and liaise with external auditors.
  • Interpret and apply IFRS standards, providing technical guidance to subsidiaries.
  • Monitor new IFRS developments and assess their impact on the group.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and reporting deadlines.
  • Support governance, risk, and compliance processes aligned with King IV principles.
  • Drive enhancements to consolidation and reporting systems (e.g., HFM, SAP, or Excel-based tools).
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with divisional finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  • Communicate clearly with auditors and senior management as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • CA (SA) with 3 years' post-articles experience.
  • Experience in group reporting / consolidation within a listed or large multinational environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, JSE Listings Requirements, and the Companies Act.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with HFM reporting systems advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Deadline-driven and proactive.
