Systems Engineer (Communication System)
Job summary
A communication systems engineering company in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to design and implement railway communication systems. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, preparing technical documentation, conducting feasibility studies, and providing mentorship. Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in the design and implementation of railway communication systems.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications and compliance to industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design communication systems for railway projects and ensure integration.
- Prepare and review technical documentation per LTA standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for project planning.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Participate in site surveys and implementation activities.

Education

- Train-to-ground communication systems
- Radio communication systems
- Public address and passenger information systems
- CCTV and surveillance systems
- Fiber optic networks and transmission systems

- Collaboration: Work with cross‑functional teams, including civil, electrical, and signaling partners/contractors, to ensure seamless integration of communication systems with other railway subsystems.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical specifications, design drawings, and documentation in compliance with LTA standards and other relevant regulations.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations to support project planning and decision‑making.
- Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Implementation: Participate in site surveys, testing, training, and commissioning activities to ensure the successful implementation of communication systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in railway communication systems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the design and implementation of communication systems, with a focus on railway communication projects.
