Brief Job Description System Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Support Windows and RHEL servers hosted in Nutanix/HyperV and AWS
- 24x7 operation support and fast service recovery
- AD administration, creation, modification, deletion of user id, groups, permissions, gpo policy
- Ensure all systems are configured and set up according to the agency security standards and
requirement.
- Respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of
incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
- Perform change management and service request related to client platforms.
- Monitor and ensure all SLAs are met
- Review logs and taking the necessary remedial and corrective measures
- Document & maintain the configuration of the systems/applications
- Ensure the backup and restoration services are functioning
- Ensure antivirus definition are up to date
- Perform monthly and ad-hoc patching and ensure all systems do not have vulnerabilities,
operational and application issues after each upgrade and/or patch;
- Initiate and maintenance of SOPs and checklist for system administration based on daily,
weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, annually
- Generate reports for monthly/quarterly/annual review of privilege accounts and periodic
access rights review for all systems;
- Monitor and finetune the performance of the system e.g. cpu, ram, harddisk space
- Manage and maintain system tools and other scripts to manage, automate scheduled
tasks/jobs, log extraction, data extraction/transfer for rapid elasticity of systems administration
operations;
- Change or fine-tune Operating System and Microsoft Middleware software parameters to
improve performance and/or fault remediation;
- Initiate and coordinate all hardware and software maintenance activities required to upkeep
the availability, security posture and productivity of the IT infrastructure
- Raise incidents/change request and work with respective principal/third party vendors till
closure
- Liaise and work with the application, network, security team and third-party vendors on new
installation, upgrade projects and ongoing issues
- Adhoc task based on operational/project requirement
Requirements
- At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Comprehensive knowledge in AWS, Windows Server 2022, 2019, RHEL 8, HyperV,
Microsoft AD, DNS, SQL2019, 2016, IIS, SFTP, Ansible, Powershell, Trendmicro AV
- Certification in AWS SysOps Administrator required
- Certification in MCSE, MCSA, RHEL would be an advantage
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communications skills (both verbal and written)
- Possess initiative with positive working attitude
- Responsible and take ownership of issues/task assigned
