Job description
Purpose

Responsible for supervising and implementing an improvement plan for production. Support engineering teams by drawing up safety protocols, reporting issues to the manager and developing strategies to ensure quality, efficiency and delivery. Manages the production and planning section to optimize the utilization of resources.

Key Areas of Responsibilities
  • Properly trained with good workmanship knowledge and skilled to perform individual task in a good manner.
  • Document procedures and work instructions in a proper and standardize manner.
  • To work with internal and external supplier to solve engineering technical issue and implement solutions.
  • Participate in Corrective Action Board (CAB) meeting to ensure Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) is carried out effectively to prevent recurrence.
  • To record and report on the department’s activities and production result in weekly productivity review meeting.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to improve quality, reduce cycle time and cost.
  • Proactively feedback and communicate to process engineering team on any improvement opportunities.
  • To drive automated workflow to reduce human intervention activity that will interrupt continuous operations of the machines.
  • To monitor & measure results after improvement action been implemented.
  • To allocate suitable resources (machines, manpower) to carry out manufacturing activities and ensure seamless production flow.
  • To draw up training and job rotation plans to develop flexible manpower management with the right competency.
  • To manage & monitor Overall Effectiveness Equipment (OEE) by production control system (Soflex/fasstem).
  • To manage consumable tools and non-capitalized equipment spending.
  • Maintain work safety & good housekeeping.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/ Bachelor’s in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Precision, Industrial Engineering) or relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an engineer in the manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills to perform mentoring and coaching to production staff.
  • Good knowledge in problem-solving methodology.
