Description
Our client, a leading institution with a strong regional and global presence, is currently looking to hire an experienced Credit Approver to join their Credit Risk function.
Responsibilities
This is a critical role that will support the front office by providing timely, high-quality credit approvals for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across a broad range of lending solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, assessing, and approving credit proposals, including standard lending such as Lombard loans, mortgages, and insurance premium financing, as well as more complex bespoke credit structures. You will work closely with relationship managers, credit structuring teams, and risk functions to ensure credit decisions are aligned with the bank's risk appetite, internal policies, and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private banking or wealth management credit, with at least 15 years of experience in credit analysis or approval. You should be confident in your ability to exercise sound judgment, manage stakeholder expectations, and strike the right balance between commerciality and risk. Experience in structuring complex transactions, understanding of collateral types (including marketable securities, private assets, and real estate), and familiarity with MAS guidelines (or relevant local regulatory requirements) would be highly advantageous.
