About the Role

The Finance Director will provide strategic direction and oversight of the organisation’s financial functions for various entities, supporting a broad range of programmes and services for the community. This role ensures long-term financial sustainability, compliance with relevant regulations, and effective stewardship of resources. Responsibilities span financial planning, budgeting, reporting, funding, and audit activities, in close coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders including government organisations and statutory boards.

Core Areas of Responsibility
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Develop and execute a financial roadmap aligned with the organisation’s mission and goals.
  • Guide the executive/senior leadership and governance bodies on performance, planning, and financial risk.
  • Perform scenario modelling and financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Offer expert financial input to key functional leaders and operations teams
2. Financial Planning and Budget Oversight
  • Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process across departments.
  • Track and report on financial performance and recommending interventions as needed.
  • Ensure delivery of timely and accurate financial reports throughout the fiscal year.
3. Revenue Optimisation and Funding Strategy
  • Monitor financial indicators and streamline revenue processes for service units.
  • Manage relationships and negotiations related to funding frameworks with external partners and Government organisations.
  • Provide analysis and insight into funding model changes and long-term financial viability.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and manage billing and collection functions.
4. Governance, Compliance & Risk
  • Uphold financial and statutory compliance in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee external and internal audits and manage communications with auditors and authorities.
  • Identify financial risks and implement proactive mitigation controls.
5. Procurement & Capital Resource Planning
  • Supervise procurement strategy to achieve cost-effectiveness and control compliance.
  • Lead planning and budgeting for infrastructure, equipment and technology investment.
6. People & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Build and mentor a capable finance team committed to continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure financial alignment with service delivery goals.
  • Foster effective communication and integration across operational units.
What We are Looking For
  • 11 to 15 years of progressive senior finance and leadership experience.
  • Current or prior experience in a Community Healthcare or Hospital environment involving multiple funding sources and regulatory oversight and compliance will be HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Government ministry/statutory board subventions, including budgeting, utilization tracking, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements and audit standards.
  • Solid experience in financial analysis, budgeting, grant management, and audit readiness.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience collaborating across functional areas.
  • Comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments.
  • Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
Preferred Background
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or MHA will be an added advantage.

The selected candidate can look forward to a competitive remuneration package consisting of basic salary, 13th month AWS and variable/performance bonuses.
