Social Worker

1. Conduct admission interviews for referred Authorised Occupiers seeking admission to JSS-OR Flat.
2. Match Authorised Occupiers, both new and existing, using appropriate methods to allocate them to the same Flat.
3. Mediate disputes between Authorised Occupiers and collaborate with the Operations team to facilitate moves to alternative bed spaces if needed.
4. Counsel Authorised Occupiers who do not comply with the terms and conditions of residing in the JSS-OR Flats.
5. Facilitate life-skills programmes, support groups, and community programmes with community partners.
6. Partner with the Operations team to conduct bed space visits and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
7. Assist in collecting monthly rental payments from Authorised Occupiers and follow up on late payments.
8. Maintain and update records of Authorised Occupiers, including employment details and connections with community partners.
9. Refer Authorised Occupiers to relevant external agencies such as the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Social Service Office (SSO), Community Development Councils (CDC), Family Service Centres (FSC), Workforce Singapore (WSG), and other community partners.
10. Refer relevant cases to New Hope CS’s Employment Services team and programmes in Kampung Siglap.
11. Work closely with agencies and partners to support the stability and self-reliance of Authorised Occupiers; casework intervention is not part of this role.
12. Collaborate with other social service agencies and community partners.
13. Prepare and submit regular reports to management and relevant government agencies as required.
14. Participate in organisational activities such as fundraising and team-building events.
15. Support additional services provided by New Hope CS, including Family Shelter, Individual Adults, HOPE Scheme, Children & Youth, and Kampung Siglap Lifeskills Training and Retreat Centre.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
17. Report to the Programme Lead and Director of Social Work.

• Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Registered Social Worker with SASW.
• At least 2 years of direct social work experience preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of engaging and working with vulnerable families and individuals.
• Knowledge and skills in case management and casework.
• Risk assessment and management skills.
• Good report writing skills.
• Willingness to work with homeless and destitute populations.
