About The Role

The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing requirements, documenting business processes, and facilitating communication between stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, a strong understanding of business processes, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.

Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, you will be involved in the software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodology from project initiation, requirements, application development, implementation, maintenance, and post‑implementation review phases. The broad areas of your role include:

  • Liaise extensively with external, internal clients and vendors.
  • Lead design thinking sessions and requirements discussions with customers; conduct requirement analysis to ensure implementation feasibility of functional specifications.
  • Highlight requirement gaps, disproportionate construction efforts, technical challenges, and any other issues.
  • Present and communicate functional requirements and use cases to the technical and development teams and ensure system meets functional and system requirements.
  • Define system‑level application architecture, high‑level and detailed design, architectural policies and principles, implementation risks and mitigation measures, etc.
  • Engage customers to explain the rationale of architecture selection, or other technical issues.
  • Prepare documentation, such as requirements and functional specification, design specification, enterprise class structure, data and application management framework, interfacing, infrastructure requirements, data migration approach, etc.; work closely with customers to review and sign‑off documentation.
  • Prepare system training programs and conduct training to the customers.
  • Develop test plans, cases and results and trace to requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Measure test results with customers required outcome.
  • Perform functional and backend testing, review results and logs, resolve test issues and ensure application quality.
  • Perform test briefing to the stakeholders and support UAT.
  • Troubleshoot system problems faced by the project team, customers and follow up till resolution.
  • Conduct change impact analysis on customers requests in a change management lifecycle.
  • Work with local and offshore teams to deliver projects on the technical aspects.
  • Prepare solutions and proposal for pre‑sales activities.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise in the business domain, assess the client’s business requirements, provide alternative solution, and evaluate the viability and feasibility of possible improvements. They bridge the communication gap between the business side and the IT throughout the application development lifecycle.
  • Provide domain expertise & focus in the specific industry.
  • Propose alternative solutions and technologies to improve and bring about high‑quality system solutions.
  • Ensure that the resulting IT solution meets the needs of the defined business requirements.
  • Develop evaluation tools and techniques and contribute expertise to Project Team to ensure that system proposals are fully analysed and evaluated.
  • Develop technology integration strategies and plans.
  • Perform an analytical and technical role in requirement gathering, analysis and design and proposal of solution to meet customers requirements.
  • Gather, analyse, and formalise the client’s business requirements.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of software development experience (including requirements gathering and technical design); preferably strong knowledge of one industry domain.
  • Prior experience working on government projects using Agile methodology.
  • Effectively run an Agile project with effective management of the product backlog and stakeholders.
  • Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to produce specifications for documentation and implementations.
  • Experience in IT business analysis techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Self‑motivated with a positive can‑do attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills including strong persuasive techniques.
  • Ability to lead, develop and maintain respectful and trusting relationship.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to travel as required.
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (SPR).
Nice to Have
  • Hands‑on experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of system integrations and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of BPMN or UML for process modeling.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Previous involvement in data analysis or digital product development.
