Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Physical Education Teacher, who will be a key member of our diverse, compassionate and innovative teaching team and will be responsible for delivering structured PE lessons to students in Primary & Secondary, this includes the early years through to KS4.

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Physical Education Teacher, who will be a key member of our diverse, compassionate and innovative teaching team and will be responsible for delivering structured PE lessons to students in Primary & Secondary, this includes the early years through to KS4.

Position Duties

The Successful Candidate Will Be Expected To

• Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection).
• Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum.
• Teach swimming to students between early years to KS3.
• Demonstrate creativity.
• Inspire compassionate action.
• Inspire children with enthusiasm and a love for learning.
• Instil self-belief and a growth mindset in all students.
• Deliver an active, hands-on and student-centred programme to promote learning.
• Maintain a safe learning environment for pupils at all times.
• Observe, monitor and record student progress in line with the school assessment policies.
• Respond appropriately to the range of individual needs and abilities within the class.
• Have a good grasp of educational technology and how it is implemented to enhance learning opportunities.
• Organise Primary Sports Day events with the help of other members of the PE team.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changes with regards to distance learning if necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Headteacher or Principal.
  
  

Qualifications And Knowledge

The ideal candidate will have:

• University degree in the subject area of employment (Master’s degree preferred).
• Current teacher certification in the required subject area. Certification should be from a recognised and nationally recognised institution.
• Classroom teachers should be able to demonstrate relevant experience and certification in teaching similar school programs as the applied for position (preferred).
• Swim England Level 2 or equivalent in teaching aquatics.
  
  

Experience And Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience

• Prior experience as a Physical Education Teacher.
• Prior experience in coaching a variety of sports.
• Coaching certification or experience as a coach.
• Proficient with G Suite/Microsoft Office

• Ability to demonstrate a track record of continued professional development.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Good interpersonal skills in interacting with students, parents and colleagues.
• Ability to supervise students in non-classroom settings.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
