Responsibilities
- Ability to negotiates contracts; reviews bids and proposals; attends meetings With RSAF, non-RSAF and other agency representative to share information and Coordinate information systems activities.
- Coordinate information systems activities.
- Consults in modify enhance, or add modules to current programs; adapts Purchased military systems or mapping data to conform to hardware used by Department and to department requirements; consults in the testing of new and revised military systems and mapping data for conformance with Specifications; involve in the writing of technical specifications for military System and determines mapping data requirement.
- Plans, organizes and directs development and enhancement of the data Processing systems of a department; consults with others to assess data Processing needs and conducts feasibility studies to identify ways of improving The efficiency and effectiveness of data processing services in the department. Recommends modifications of departmental procedures, operations, and Policies so the department may take best advantage of information systems Technology to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Oversees computer systems operations for the department; identifies and Solves complex technical systems problems, including design, production, data Communications, LAN administration and operation issues.
- Prepares special maps, drawings, charts, diagrams, presentations and reports Related to data processing workflow, status or planning of a project, and any Other required reports specified by RSAF directorate using GIS and computer aided Software.
- Explore new GIS technologies and equipment for department; develop and Maintain procedure manuals, metadata, specifications, Tools, utilities and other Continuity documentation to improves the efficiency and effectiveness of Database processing.
- Collecting required various mapping data and information from different Resources in order to build Geo-database for simulators and mission planning Systems or other required systems specified by Air force Systems Directorate.
- Creating and maintaining the structures necessary for GIS data storage.
- Processing, manipulating, analysis, enhancement and converting all types of Data to be conformed to military standards and other system's requirements.
- Builds visual, radar, and IR and any other specific databases using RSAF DBGS Equipment of different aircraft fighters to be used in simulators and mission Planning systems or other required systems specified by OPS&PLANS Directorate.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in surveying engineering, computer science or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Three years’ experience in computer operating and applications.
- At least three years’ experience in GIS applications (i.e. Arc View, ERDAS, ERMAPPER, etc.) Is preferred.
- Knowledge in mapping and satellite imagery and survey principals would be Preferable.
- Should be fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking), as the job requires Intensive reading in manuals and references.
- At least three years’ experience in military mapping data format such as (CADRG, ASRP, CIB, DTED, DFAD, VMAP and satellite imagery).
- Draw and print various map and data flowchart.
- At least Three years’ experience in 3D modelling software to design and build a Realistic 3D models (military and civilian targets) for the use of simulators.
- Strong knowledge in project management process and coordinate workflow.
- A sound knowledge of Radar and Infrared data.
- Logical/analytical thinking ability.
- Development of tool Process, convert and integrate multiple sources of GIS data.
- Investigation and assessment of new GIS data sets.
- Database schema development and workflow planning.
