We are looking for an experienced urbanist with 15+ years experience to join our clients Riyadh based Planning Team. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cities in the middle, the drivers that shape them, and a passion to making them better places for its people and the environment.
Exceptional technical skills in strategic planning, development or master planning are key requirements. The successful candidate will have a proven project management and delivery track record, be a recognised leader on urban issues in the industry and will be committed to developing the local team.
What will you be doing?
- Leading the continued growth of the planning team in Riyadh and the region
- Supporting and refining overall business strategy and its implementation
- Alignment and liaison with other consulting leaders, such as sustainability and economics
- Leading the delivery of projects by the planning team, with technical inputs from numerous disciplines, including transport, infrastructure, environment, sustainability, as well as external partner inputs
- Maintaining and expanding winning relationships in the region to deliver future project pipeline
- Be active in promoting and communicating current and future offerings of the planning team
- Balancing demands and priorities on the team resources, reviewing project deliverables, whilst monitoring job financial performance
- The line management of senior members, with responsibility to develop and mentoring the team
- Support the technical management and performance of the planning team with particular emphasis on managing resources and delivery
What will you need to be successful in this role?
- A track record of delivering work in core cities disciplines (planning, urban design, sustainability, economics), and an understanding of the GCC market
- Experience of successful multidisciplinary project delivery
- Demonstrable ability to lead and inspire team members
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Active public engagement in the critical discourse of city issues
- Technical background in architecture, planning, design, sustainability or economics with a demonstrable track record of leading complex city scale projects
- Experience of master planning and/or policy projects at a variety of scales
- A commitment to travel
- A commitment to quality output
- Degree qualification in a relevant architecture, planning, sustainability disciplines
- A registered member of a relevant professional institution, ideally chartered status
- Experience working in the ME essential
- Arabic language skill a desired benefit
