Job Description
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following:
• Monitoring day-to-day field/facility activities (like operations, maintenance, construction)
for compliance.
• Ensuring adherence to environmental, health, safety (EHS), and regulatory
requirements.
Providing guidance and training to field personnel regarding compliance issues.
Perform site compliance inspections, including: evaluations of Safe Work Practices
(SWP) such as; Work Permit System (WPS), Confined Space Entry, and hazard
analyses.
• Develop and implement protocols for facility operations to address risks and improve
safety.
• Evaluate and update hazard control systems to align with industry best practices and
reduce workplace incidents.
• Manage and oversee the implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS),
ensuring systematic identification, assessment, and mitigation of safety risks.
• Review and update the Safety Management System (SMS) framework to enhance its
effectiveness and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Develop and deliver specialized safety training programs, such as: Behavior-Based
Safety (BBS), Emergency Response Planning (ERP), and Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE) usage.
• Prepare safety orientations and educational materials for employees and contractors.
• Analyze injury, property damage, and loss statistics to identify trends and underlying
causes.
• Support management in monitoring and enforcing compliance with
division/department safety and environmental programs.
Desired Candidate Profile
• The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HSE, Science, Industrial, or in a related discipline from an accredited entity or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience related to safety operations in mega projects, Oil & Gas industry with minimum of 7 years in Oil & Gas Facilities Construction mega projects.
• Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and experience conducting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) using techniques such as: HAZOP or Bowtie Analysis.
• Proven expertise in safety compliance programs, including: Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Ability to develop and deliver specialized safety training programs and conduct job site compliance inspections.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and standards, such as: API, and the ability to ensure their implementation in field operations.
• Should hold International safety certification NEBOSCH IGC or IOSH or equivalent.
• Strong technical expertise in the area of Incident investigation, hazard identification, risk management, emergency preparedness & response, and safety management systems.
• Should have demonstrated leadership skills, excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written), computer skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Must have the ability to work in a multicultural environment and the drive to overcome significant challenges.
