Position Overview
Responsible for managing stock levels to ensure optimal inventory availability, minimize wastage, and reduce costs. They play a critical role in tracking, analyzing, and forecasting inventory to support smooth operations and meet customer demands efficiently.
This role demands a balance between operational efficiency and strategic planning, making it essential for maintaining the company’s retail success.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels in stores and warehouses.
- Perform regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, slow-moving items, and shortages.
- Prepare detailed reports for management, including stock turnover and inventory valuation.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain the details of inventory updates as approved by the management.
- Loss Prevention:
- Identify and prevent inventory shrinkage due to theft, damage, or mismanagement.
- Implement measures to enhance security and reduce losses.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Liaise with sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate inventory-related updates and issues to management.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to inventory handling.
- Maintain organized, clean, and safe storage environments.
Qualifications And Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 5+years in inventory control, stock management, or a related role in retail.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and team collaboration.
