STINIS MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. seeks a WELDING ENGINEERING SPECIALIST to help design test our planned upcoming projects with create dependable, hardworking products benefitting our company’s development.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and optimize welding procedures for various materials and thicknesses.


  • Conduct welding process feasibility studies for new projects.


  • Perform metallurgical analysis to determine suitable welding methods.


  • Create detailed Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).


  • Develop Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) according to standards.


  • Conduct Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) and certify operators.


  • Inspect welded joints for compliance with technical drawings.


  • Review engineering drawings for weld requirements and symbols.


  • Select appropriate welding equipment and consumables.


  • Perform weld distortion analysis and develop corrective measures.


  • Establish heat input control procedures.


  • Monitor preheat and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) processes.


  • Perform weld failure analysis and prepare root cause reports.


  • Liaise with clients on welding specifications and approvals.


  • Provide welding technical support to production teams.


  • Supervise critical welding operations in high-pressure environments.


  • Ensure welding consumable storage meets manufacturer requirements.


  • Audit welding quality during fabrication stages.


  • Develop cost-effective welding solutions for production.


  • Train welders on new welding techniques and safety protocols.


  • Implement robotic welding systems for mass production.


  • Analyse welding defects and propose process improvements.


  • Prepare welding inspection and quality documentation.


  • Approve supplier welding procedures and qualifications.


  • Work with procurement to source high-quality welding consumables.


  • Conduct fit-up and tack-weld inspections before final welding.


  • Manage welding schedules to meet project deadlines.


  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure weldability in designs.
