Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Penang is seeking a Utilities Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of the boiler house and co-generation plant. The role requires ensuring safety standards, conducting training for new staff, and effective manpower utilization. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with 2-3 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of SAP and a Steam Engineer certificate are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

  • Steam Engineer certificate is preferred.
  • Experience in cogeneration plant operation is an advantage.

Utilities Engineer

Position Level: Junior Management

Job Type: Permanent

Experience: 2 to 3 years

Responsibilities
  • In-charge of the smooth operation, maintenance and day‑to‑day operation of boiler house and co‑generation plant.
  • Conduct on‑job training for new boilerman.
  • Plan for effective manpower utilization in the section.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain steam boilers (High & Medium), T.O. heater and air compressor.
  • Undertake any other duties as instructed by superior from time to time.
  • Carry out daily activities in line with IMS; FSSC 22000, MS 1480, GMP+FSA, EFfCI and ISO 50001 requirements.
  • Carry out work notification, reservation and relevant maintenance work via SAP system.
  • Ensure effective implementation on Quality (ISO 9001), Food safety (FSSC 22000 & MS 1480), Feed Safety (GMP+FSA), Cosmetic safety (EFfCI), Occupational safety and health (ISO 45001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).
  • Ensure all steam boilers are operating safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Related 2‑3 years working experience.
Job Requirements
  • Steam Engineer certificate is preferred.
  • Experience in Cogen plant operation is an added advantage.
