Job summary

A leading bank in Malaysia is seeking a UAT Tester to ensure software meets user expectations and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of UAT experience, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of Banking, Financial Institutions, and testing methodologies. Responsibilities include executing test cases, tracking issues, and preparing test metrics reports. This position also requires collaboration with stakeholders to ensure compliance with data protection laws.

Job description

Testers to ensure testing meets agreed quality standards and all relevant stakeholders have visibility of testing progress and quality.

Execute testing, track progress and UAT issues, triaging of issues into defects, managing/execute new requirements, data set-up, user error.

Provide regular UAT progress statistics/reporting and obtain required UAT sign offs from key stakeholders.

Provide regular updates in terms of test progress, defects raised/closed and tracking against milestones.

Preparation of UAT documents. Support Go –Live (process, system, data, readiness) by working closely with respective stakeholder’s/project team members.

Consult with IT to produce a UAT activity plan which is aligned to the IT delivery plan. Align UAT entry/exit criteria and getaways to project delivery process and project plan.

Able to understand and map requirement needs and develop the required UAT plan, cases and scripts.

To ensure system change implementations are error free/minimal based on the criticality.

To understand the business requirements and user expectations. To lead UAT activities and develop a structured plan inclusive of test cases/scripts for UAT, including timelines, resources, and scope. Prepare realistic test data that reflects actual user scenarios.

To execute test cases to ensure the software meets the business requirements and user expectations. Logging defects/document any issues or bugs found during testing.

To ensure that fixes for defects do not introduce new issues.

To prepare test summary report: - provide a comprehensive overview of the testing activities, including test cases executed, defects found, and overall software quality.

Regular checks on Acceptance Testing (UAT) process to ensure it is more efficient, effective, and user-friendly. This involves streamlining workflows, enhancing test coverage, and improving documentation and communication. To incorporate industry best practices and standards to elevate the quality and reliability of the UAT process.

Ensure that the software fulfills the business needs and user expectations as defined in the project scope.
Ensure that all test data complies with data protection laws within AmBank standards

Audit Rating is not breached & up keeping detailed records of all testing procedures, test data, and results

To well understand of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and requirements.Gain knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) systems, along with other compliance systems.

Enhance analytical thinking to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.

Improve proficiency in various testing methodologies and tools, such as using Excel formulas/macros to automate validation.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or Related
• Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or Related
• ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board (Good to have)
• Minimum of 1-3 year working experience in performing UAT and UAT lead experience would be an added advantage. Reasonable understanding in Banking, Financial Institution, Data management, Reporting, AML field and/or Optimization (Preferred)
• Experience in UAT Testing with which includes User Interface Testing, Functionality Testing, Regression Testing, System integration, Business logic, Performance Testing, Manual testing.
• Knowledge in Test Cases/scenarios preparation and also in reviewing the test cases prepared by team members. Preparation of test metrics report for couple of projects.
• UAT sign off for test completion, identify and categorization of severity of defects, highlighting open issues.
• Possess knowledge in SQL and QTP, Load Runner, VBA (Excel Macro Tool) – added advantage.Having background on all Project Management methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies like Waterfall, Agile (Scrum, backlogs) etc.
