The Opportunity
As a Business Analyst within EY’s Digital Engineering team, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will work closely with clients, product owners, and software engineering teams to gather requirements, define solution features, and ensure successful delivery of digital initiatives. Your role will be essential in enabling business transformation through technology.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements for software engineering initiatives
Translate business needs into clear and concise user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria
Partner with engineering leads and product owners to define solution scope, features, and prioritization in alignment with project goals
Support agile delivery by participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews
Conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies to support design decisions and technology adoption
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and user feedback sessions to refine solution requirements and improve user experience
Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding of goals and constraints
Support QA and UAT efforts by reviewing test cases and validating that deliverables meet business expectations
Assist in preparing documentation such as functional specifications, data mapping, and user guides
Technology Environment (You’ll work alongside engineering teams using)
Frontend: React, Angular, Next.js, TypeScript
DevSecOps & Tools: Jira, Confluence, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Selenium, Playwright, JMeter
To Qualify, You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
3–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software engineering, digital product, or technology consulting environment
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), and product delivery processes
Proven experience in requirements gathering, business process modelling, and translating complex needs into technical specifications
Familiarity with data structures, APIs, and modern application architectures (e.g., microservices, cloud-native platforms)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Experience working with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and wireframing/prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Balsamiq)
Certification such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Scrum Product Owner is an advantage
