Overview
The Technical Procurement Executive is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring materials, equipment, and components primarily for MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) in alignment with company’s technical and commercial requirements. This role ensures that suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery targets while adhering to project specifications, company standards, and client requirements. The Technical Procurement Executive will work closely with the operations and sales team to maintain a reliable supply chain that supports project delivery and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for technical materials, equipment, and spare parts in line with project and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
- Technical Evaluation and Compliance Control
- Evaluate supplier quotations for technical compliance with specifications and drawings. Conduct all S2P related matters with proper SOP.
- Interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and specifications to ensure correct materials are sourced.
- Liaise with OEMs and subcontractors to clarify technical clarifications, while maintaining compliance to Purchase Order Quality Requirement (POQR) documents.
- Ensure all procurement activities meet company policies, ethical practices, and client contractual terms.
- Cross-Functional Support
- Support project teams in identifying alternate materials or suppliers when facing delays or shortages.
- Collaborate with the team to build and maintain all procurement records and database.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technical or engineering procurement, preferably in MRO, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of technical specifications, engineering materials, and industry standards.
- Experience with international procurement is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent command of English written and spoken.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills with a focus on value-for-money procurement.
- Excellent technical literacy and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to manage suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Results-driven, with a proactive mindset for problem-solving and process improvement.
