The Merchandising & Supply Chain Executive / Senior Executive is responsible for ensuring the smooth planning, sourcing, replenishment, and distribution of pet products across Petsmore outlets. This role involves analyzing sales performance, coordinating with suppliers, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing effective merchandising strategies to optimize product availability, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Involves speaking to suppliers, product selection, cost negotiation, ordering stock, following up on deliveries, and ensuring proper product arrival at stores.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising
- Plan and execute product assortment, pricing, and promotion strategies in line with business objectives.
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, and customer preferences to optimize product mix.
- Work closely with marketing teams to develop in‑store promotions and campaigns.
- Ensure consistent visual merchandising standards across all outlets to maximize product appeal.
- Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities for new product introductions or assortment adjustments.
Supply Chain
- Forecast demand and manage stock replenishment to maintain healthy inventory levels while minimizing overstock/stock‑outs.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely distribution to outlets.
- Monitor inventory accuracy through regular stock audits and system updates.
- Identify supply chain risks and propose solutions to maintain continuity of supply.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with retail operations to address product availability issues at outlets.
- Collaborate with finance on budgeting, cost control, and supplier payment matters.
- Support new product launches and ensure smooth integration into supply chain systems.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in merchandising, procurement, or supply chain, preferably in retail/FMCG/pet industry.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/inventory management systems.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment and manage multiple priorities.
