The Supplier Development & Quality Engineer supports the Strategic Sourcing team in managing supplier quality development and solving supplier quality issues promptly. The role focuses on meeting departmental KPIs through effective supplier performance monitoring, reduction of non-conformances and scrap, and ensuring timely and accurate 8D reporting to drive continuous improvement in supplier quality and reliability.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- New Supplier Selection and Qualification: Identify and qualify new suppliers to meet business needs.
- Existing Supplier Audit and Improvement: Conduct audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deploy VAT Supplier Management Processes: Implement VAT processes effectively across suppliers.
- Manage Standard Parts Suppliers: Oversee suppliers for O-rings, screws, but not limited to raw materials (aluminium & stainless steel), surface treatments (clear/hard anodizing, cleaning), and assemblies (M&E/P&E/E&E).
- Supplier Training: Organize and manage training on VAT-specific standards.
- Capability Assessments: Perform regular supplier capability evaluations aligned with Asia Supply Chain Growth Plan.
- Situation Analysis and Recovery Planning: Identify gaps and proactively plan recovery measures.
- Execute Quality Improvement Plans: Pursue quality goals and monitor implementation of improvement measures.
- Handle Non-Conformance: Manage supplier non-conformance issues, including disposition.
- Provide Analytical and Technical Data: Support decision-making for supplier development and validate technical actions during process improvements or escalations.
- Co-drive Reviews: Participate in Supplier Quality Management Reviews and Quarterly Business Reviews with Category Management.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in any science-related field
- Working experience of at least 5 years in supplier quality development and management
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and tools such as 8D, FMEA
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Strong verbal and written communication for interaction
Preferred Qualification
- Experience in managing standard parts such as O-ring, screw and other standard components
- Experience in conducting supplier audits and implementing corrective actions effectively
- Familiar with ISO and relevant industrial standards and requirements
- Demonstrated success in supplier development initiatives
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
