Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise all daily store activities, including receiving, storage, issuing and stock control of raw materials, components and finished goods.
• Ensure proper material identification, labeling and storage according to material type and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate stock levels to support production and avoid material shortages.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock movement and conduct periodic physical stock counts (monthly/quarterly).
• Investigate and report any stock discrepancies or damage.
• Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practice for all materials.
• Documentation & System Updates: Ensure all stock transactions (GRN, issue, return, transfer) are updated promptly in the ERP/system.
• Maintain proper filing of delivery orders, invoices, material issue slips and other store-related documents.
• Coordination & Communication: Coordinate closely with the Purchasing, Production and Planning departments to ensure timely material supply.
• Liaise with suppliers and transporters for incoming/outgoing material handling.
• People Management: Supervise and guide storekeepers, forklift drivers, and material handlers.
• Plan daily work allocation and ensure team discipline, safety and productivity.
• Provide on-the-job training to subordinates.
• Ensure the store area is clean, organized and complies with 5S standards.
• Enforce safety procedures during material handling, loading and unloading.
• Monitor forklift usage and ensure all lifting tools and equipment are maintained properly.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance material flow, accuracy and efficiency.
• Support internal and external audits (ISO, 5S, Safety etc.).

Requirements

• Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistics or a related discipline.
• 3 years of experience in warehouse, inventory management or materials handling in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in inventory management, stock control and materials issuing to production.
• Good knowledge of inventory control / stock management.
• Familiarity with safety and quality standards like ISO / H&S in a manufacturing / warehouse context.
• Computer literacy: Excel, inventory system and reporting.
• Required Language(s): English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and strong analytical ability.
• Knowledge in LMW License would be an advantage.
