A telecommunications company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Specialist in Business Analytics & Insights to drive data-driven decisions and enhance customer engagement. The ideal candidate will possess strong SQL and Power BI skills, with 2-4 years of relevant experience in data reporting and analysis. Key responsibilities include analyzing customer behavior, monitoring KPIs, and collaborating with data science teams. This role offers a dynamic work environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong SQL skills essential for data extraction.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across marketing, operations and management.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer behaviour to improve targeting accuracy.
• Monitor personalization KPIs and performance insights.
• Provide data-driven insights for business strategy.
• Identify performance issues, anomalies, or opportunities and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
• Manage end-to-end tracking for personalization initiatives across segments and channels.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to refine models and support UAT for new/updated models.
• Translate modeling insights into business-friendly explanations for Marketing, Product, CRM, Management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of personalization measurement frameworks and dashboards.

The Day-To-Day Activities

• Personalization Insights & Performance Analysis
• Analyse customer behaviour, model outputs, and personalized journeys to uncover insights that improve targeting accuracy, offer relevance, and customer engagement.
• Monitor personalization KPIs such as response rate, conversion, uplift, and customer movement across segments.
• Identify performance issues, anomalies, or opportunities for optimisation and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.
• Personalization Tracking & Collaboration with Data Teams
• Manage end‑to‑end tracking for personalization initiatives across all segments and channels (not limited to Prepaid/Postpaid).
• Work closely with Data Science teams to refine model requirements, validate outputs, and support UAT for new/updated models (e.g., NBO, Price Elasticity model, Persona models etc).
• Translate modeling insights into business‑friendly explanations for Marketing, Product, CRM, and Management.
• Business Insights & Ad‑Hoc Analytical Support
• Provide data‑driven insights across Prepaid and Postpaid that support the wider business strategy
• Assist with ad‑hoc deep dives, dashboards, and analytical tasks that require customer‑level or segment‑level understanding.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of personalization measurement frameworks, tracking processes, and dashboards.

About You

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Passion for working with data and solving business challenges through insights and reporting.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in data reporting, analysis, or business intelligence is a plus, preferably in the telecommunications or prepaid industry.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and preparation.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI for dashboard design and performance tracking.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for report preparation and validation.
• Understanding of basic data analysis techniques and statistical concepts.
• Highly detail‑oriented, ensuring all reports and dashboards are accurate and reliable.
• Proactive in highlighting discrepancies, unusual patterns, or potential issues to stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with marketing, operations, and management teams.
• Ability to manage recurring deliverables and analytical tasks in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Analytical thinker with problem‑solving skills and a mindset for continuous improvement.
