About the role

As the Sourcing Lead at ALPHAESS MALAYSIA SDN. BHD., you will play a crucial role in driving the company's procurement strategy and ensuring the seamless supply of materials and services. Based in Kulim, Kedah, this full‑time position will see you working closely with cross‑functional teams to identify and secure the most cost‑effective and reliable sources of supply.

Responsibilities

• Source, develop and negotiate with qualified suppliers on price efficiency, quality effectiveness and sustainable materials supply to productions.
• Manage contracts with suppliers, formulate strategy to optimise production costs.
• Maintain a good cooperative relationship with suppliers; conduct regular performance evaluation and assessment of suppliers.

What you'll be doing

Lead the Sourcing team to perform on materials development and price maintenance, contract management and cost optimisation.

Formulate strategy on raw materials procurement and implementation under the qualified supplier list.

Make inquiries and price comparison and negotiations with suppliers in accordance to company's procedures and ensure purchase prices are reasonable.

Carry out price negotiation on the procurement needs from other departments, and produce price review report.

Have relevant professional knowledge and be able to assist in product selection.

Be able to complete the cost accounting of purchased goods and the annual cost reduction task.

Responsible for the business guidance of the employees of the department; supervise and evaluate the work performance of subordinates.

Responsible for the development of various tasks of the Sourcing team, personnel deployment, work arrangements, etc.

Other tasks assigned by superior from time to time.

What we're looking for

• Proven track record in a sourcing or procurement leadership role of at least 5 years, preferably within the Engineering Manufacturing industry.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in data analysis, cost modelling and strategic decision‑making.
• Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills to address complex supply chain challenges.
• Adept at collaborating with cross‑functional teams and aligning procurement activities with broader business objectives.
• Familiarity with procurement best practices, industry regulations and the latest trends in supply chain management.
• Knowledge in engineering drawing, inventory management and material handling equipment.
• Required familiarity with SAP, ERP and Microsoft Office tools.
• Possess good communication skills and able to work together in a team with strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Positive, time‑sensitive and good attitude towards job and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong ethics, reliability and ability to work independently.
