Job description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Tech Lead to lead the evolution of our technology strategy and a team of software engineers. You should be highly motivated and an inquisitive individual with in-depth knowledge of the web and cloud technologies. You should have a desire to wear multiple hats and thrive in a startup environment. You will work closely with the VP Product and Technology to define the technology strategy and growth to achieve long-term objectives in the product, innovation, and company culture.

Responsibilities

• Hiring and building a first-rate engineering team
• Managing and executing against project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Working closely with VP and engineers to architect and develop the best technical architecture and approach
• Reporting on the status of product development, quality, operations, and system performance to your peers in the executive leadership team
• Working in a small, nimble environment to figure out how to do the things that need to get done and get them done – participate, delegate, and accomplish

Ideal Profile

• You possess a Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and have at least 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including expertise in AWS, ReactJS, Python web frameworks such as FastAPI, and both relational and non-relational databases
• You have more than 5 years of experience in building and managing development teams focused on designing and delivering highly reliable and scalable distributed systems
• You have experience in designing software architectures for scalability, reliability and performance, including the technology platform such as data lakes or equivalent
• You have experience in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps
• You are experienced in developing automated internal frameworks, increasing developer and release velocity, improved code health and building developer tools
• You have solid software development background including design patterns, data structures and test-driven development
• You are experienced with project delivery for complex, cross-functional, cross-organizational projects and you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• You are fluent in English for effective coordination with the engineering team in the region
