Sigma School is on a mission to transform how people in Southeast Asia learn to code and get hired. Our learning portal isn’t just a website, it’s a full product: curriculum, assessments, live projects, job-prep flows, infrastructure, and student outcomes. We’re looking for someone to lead the technical side of it and collaborate closely with curriculum & product teams to make it truly market‑leading.
The Role
You won’t just build software, you’ll help design the product. You’ll partner with instructors, curriculum designers, product owners, and your engineering peers to:
- Define and iterate our learning portal architecture (frontend, backend, infra)
- Build and optimise infrastructure for high‑scale delivery, interactive coding, analytics, student journey tracking
- Work with curriculum leads to turn learning objectives into technical workflows, assessments, and interactive features
- Help shape the roadmap: what features matter most for learning, completion, job‑readiness
- Mentor junior engineers, enforce best practices, ensure the infrastructure is stable, maintainable and future‑proof
Who You Are
- You’re an experienced engineer (3+ years) who’s also product‑minded. You care about user outcomes, not just code.
- You believe in education, in helping people learn effectively — you’ve maybe taught, mentored, created courses or side‑projects.
- You’ve built production systems (backend + frontend + cloud infra) and you care about performance, scaling, maintainability.
- You’re comfortable translating curriculum goals (e.g., “Student should be able to build a REST API by week 4”) into technical solutions (e.g., sandbox, assessments, analytics).
- You collaborate well across disciplines: you’ll converse with instructors, curriculum designers, students and engineers alike.
- You’re comfortable leading small teams, making decisions, owning outcomes, and you move fast.
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience in EdTech or learning platforms
- Experience with interactive coding environments or sandboxed execution
- Familiarity with learning analytics, student journey tracking, job‑placement pipelines
- Passion for curriculum design, education trends, growth metrics
Why Join Sigma School
