Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Lead and manage a team of front-end design engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance feedback.
- Oversee the full chip design lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture definition, RTL design, verification, and support for back-end implementation.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and customers to define chip specifications and ensure alignment with business and technical goals.
- Develop and maintain project plans, track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Drive technical decisions related to microarchitecture, IP selection, and design trade-offs (e.g., performance, power, area).
- Establish and optimize design methodologies, tools, and workflows to improve team efficiency and design quality.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including verification, back-end physical design, software, and testing, to ensure seamless integration and successful tape-out.
- Review design deliverables, participate in technical reviews, and ensure compliance with design standards and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes in chip design to inform technical strategies.
- Prepare and present project status reports, technical documentation, and design reviews to internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC design, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Deep expertise in RTL design (Verilog/SystemVerilog), FPGA prototyping, simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis.
- Strong knowledge of SoC architecture, IP integration, and bus protocols (e.g., AMBA, AXI, PCIe).
- Proven track record of leading end-to-end chip design projects with multiple successful tape-outs.
- Familiarity with ASIC design flows and cross-functional integration.
- Proficiency in EDA tools and scripting (e.g., TCL, Perl).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making abilities in dynamic environments.
