Job summary

A leading construction company in Malaysia is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to ensure safety compliance at project sites. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, implementing protocols, and training staff on safety measures. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Health and Safety, a valid Yellow Book, and at least 2-3 years of experience in construction. Strong communication skills in English and Malay are essential, with Mandarin as a plus. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.

Job description

Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) (Selangor/Perak/Kuching)

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  2. Implement and monitor safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  3. Develop safety and health programs and conduct training sessions, such as briefings and toolbox meetings, to raise awareness at the construction site.
  4. Assist the Safety and Health Officer (SHO) in developing site‑specific requirements for emergency response plans, including the monitoring of emergency supplies and organizing emergency exercises.
  5. Support the SHO during investigations of workplace incidents.
  6. Ensure that necessary Permits to Work (PTW) are submitted, approved, and properly displayed at the site.
  7. Collaborate with local authorities, such as DOSH, CIDB, and health departments, in their inspections and activities.
  8. Provide and maintain safety and health‑related documents for inspection purposes.
  9. Prepare and submit a Monthly Safety Report along with Safety Statistic records.
  10. Perform any other duties as assigned by Management from time to time.
Qualifications
  1. Applicants must possess at least a Diploma in Health and Safety or an equivalent qualification.
  2. Hold a valid Yellow Book registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
  3. Minimum of 2‑3 years of working experience in the construction field.
  4. Familiar with standard concepts and best practices for safety and administration in construction.
  5. Ability to work under minimal supervision, with strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  6. Able to work overtime as required.
  7. Ability to travel for projects and possess personal transportation.
  8. Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in English and Malay, with Mandarin being an added advantage.
