A leading safety compliance firm in Terengganu is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor responsible for ensuring HSE regulations are met at work sites. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Occupational Safety & Health, at least 3-4 years of experience in HSE supervision within the Oil and Gas sector, and be a registered Site Safety Supervisor with DOSH Malaysia. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact in a multinational environment are essential. The position involves traveling to various sites across Malaysia.
The Site Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental (HSE) regulations at the worksite. This role involves monitoring daily site activities to identify potential hazards, implementing corrective actions, and promoting a strong safety culture among all personnel.
The Site Safety Supervisor will work closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with company policies, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.
The position requires a proactive individual with sound knowledge of occupational safety and health standards, particularly within the oil and gas sector, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to maintain a safe working environment.
1. Safety and Health:
Enforce compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations, company HSE policies, and client requirements.
Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure proper implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Organize and conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and training for all site personnel.
Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
Ensure all workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work procedures.
Develop site-related HSE-documentations (Procedures, Work Instruction, Plan, etc) as per client and site requirements.
Monitor contractor activities to ensure adherence to site safety standards and procedures.
Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and project-specific environmental management plans.
Promote pollution prevention initiatives and proper waste management practices (segregation, storage, and disposal).
Conduct environmental inspections to identify potential non-compliances (e.g., spills, emissions, noise, waste).
Support the implementation of environmental awareness programs for site personnel.
Coordinate spill response, containment, and clean-up operations when necessary.
Prepare environmental monitoring reports and assist in audits or inspections by authorities or clients.
Assist the HSE Department and Sales Team in preparing HSE-related sections of tender submissions.
Provide detailed responses to HSE tender questionnaires, including company safety performance statistics (LTI, TRIR), certifications, and HSE programs.
Ensure all responses reflect the company’s commitment to compliance, proactive risk management, and continuous HSE improvement.
Supply supporting documentation such as HSE Policy, OGSP certifications, DOSH registration, training records, and incident statistics when required.
Participate in HSE evaluations or clarifications during tender assessments by clients or auditors.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of OSHA 1994, EQA 1974, and other related standards and regulations to ensure activities meet regulatory and quality requirements.
Regularly update internal processes to reflect changes in industry standards and ensure continuous compliance.
Regularly review and update HSE-related operating procedures to suit company practices, client and authority requirements.
Maintain accurate records of all HSE activities, client communications, and related documentation.
You will be required to travel to sites throughout MALAYSIA to provide HSE supports for PDSB team at sites.
As per Company Delegation of Authority Guideline.
Degree/Diploma holder in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Registered Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) with DOSH Malaysia
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in HSE supervision within the Oil and Gas industry.
Possess a valid OGSP (Oil & Gas Safety Passport) from NIOSH.
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994, EQA 1974, and related Malaysian HSE legislation.
Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
Effective communicator, both oral and written.
Effective interpersonal skills with an ability to interact in a multinational environment.
Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams under demanding project schedules.
Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Orientation training.
