The Site Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all activities on-site comply and align with the latest Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022, the Occupational Safety and Health (Exemption) Order 2023, Construction Work, Design, and Management Regulations 2024 (CWDMR 2024) and requirements set by DOSH Malaysia. The incumbent will also be responsible for enforcing compliance and taking immediate action to rectify any breaches.
Please take note that this is a 2 years contract role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Malaysian safety laws and regulations.
- Conduct Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to identify and mitigate site hazards.
- Monitor site activities, ensuring that safe work procedures and permit-to-work (PTW) systems are followed at all times.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions.
- Provide safety training, inductions, and briefings for site workers and subcontractors.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce site safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Main Contractor, Project Safety and Health Officer (SHO), and Client to maintain safety standards.
- Maintain and update site health and safety records, documentation, and reports as per DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) Malaysia requirements.
- Act as the first point of contact for regulatory inspections and external audits.
- Promote a positive safety culture through regular communication and engagement with all site personnel.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Yellow Book Certificate (by DOSH Malaysia) and valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) registration.
- Competency in CIDB Malaysia Green Card certification.
- Working knowledge of CWDMR 2024, OSHA (Amendment) Act 2022 and the Occupational Safety and Health (Exemption) Order 2023, requirements by DOSH Malaysia
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in construction site safety supervision in Malaysia.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, site audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence safety practices on-site.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and first aid (First Aid certification is a plus).
- Proficiency in maintaining safety documentation and using reporting software.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple safety concerns.
- Proactive approach to hazard identification and risk mitigation.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
