Why this role?

KONE Malaysia is embarking upon an exciting growth phase and as such we are seeking a Service Engineer (Team Leader) to lead and manage Service Maintenance team in Penang. This role ensures services are delivered according to contract requirements, company policies, and KONE processes.

What will you be doing?
  • Plan, manage, and control maintenance activities
  • Act as the first point of contact for technicians and customers
  • Handle technical and operational issues related to assigned equipment
  • Manage maintenance costs and drive service repair sales
  • Accountable for the delivery of service according to the service contract requirements, the time limits, the KONE quality standards and the local regulations
  • Accountable for managing the third party inspections visits and follow-up actions
  • Accountable for supporting the maintenance of any foreign equipment coming into the LIS base
  • Accountable for solving and closing the open callouts and reacting in case of stopped equipment and/or safety issues
  • Responsible for performing site audits
  • Responsible for investigating accidents and following company policy on evidence custody and internal reporting
  • Responsible for the control and authorization of overtime
  • Accountable for maintenance technicians motivation and competence development
  • Accountable for communication to his technicians
  • Responsible of defining the technician capacity need and for the technician hiring and selection process
Are you the one?
  • 4 years of relevant supervisory experience-leading a maintenance team in elevators or escalators
  • Associate’s Degree in a related technical field (e.g., engineering, mechanical/electrical)
  • Strong understanding of safety standards, operational procedures, and customer service
  • Ability to coach and lead technicians, manage schedules, and monitor performance
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable using digital tools and technologies to support field operations
  • Strong customer relationship management skills
  • Willingness to travel within assigned areas
