Job Title - Senior Solution Architect – Banking

The Senior Solution Architect is for defining, governing, and overseeing mission-critical banking solutions that meet business objectives while complying with regulatory, risk, and security requirements. This role provides architectural leadership across large and complex banking initiatives, working closely with business leaders, delivery teams, risk and compliance, and external vendors. The architect ensures solutions are resilient, secure, scalable, and aligned with the bank’s enterprise architecture, technology strategy, and regulatory obligations.

Role responsibilities center on strategic solution architecture and governance for banking platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Solution Architecture: Lead the design of end-to-end solutions across applications, integration, data, and infrastructure layers.
- Translate complex banking business requirements into high-level and detailed solution architectures.
- Own architectural decisions for major programs such as:
- Core banking modernization
- Digital and mobile banking platforms
- Payments, cards, and transaction processing
- Lending, credit, and collateral systems
- Risk, compliance, AML, and regulatory reporting
- Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise standards, roadmaps, and target-state architectures.
Regulatory, Risk & Security Leadership
- Embed security-by-design, privacy-by-design, and resilience-by-design in all solutions.
- Ensure adherence to:
- Local and global banking regulations (e.g., BNM, MAS, FCA, RBI, OCC/FDIC equivalents)
- Data privacy, banking secrecy, and data-residency requirements
- Internal technology risk and information security policies
- Define architecture controls:
- Auditability and traceability
- Segregation of duties
- Identity and access management (IAM)
- Act as a key contributor during regulatory reviews, internal audits, and risk assessments.
Platform, Integration & Resilience Design
- Architect integrations with:
- Core banking and ledger platforms
- Payment networks and clearing houses
- Customer channels (web, mobile, branch, call center)
- Enterprise data and analytics platforms
- Define API-led, service-oriented, and event-driven architectures.
- Ensure high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity (BCP) standards are met.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams on capacity planning and performance engineering.
Delivery Oversight & Governance
- Provide architectural oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle—from ideation through production.
- Govern solution designs through Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and design forums.
- Review and approve detailed designs, ensuring compliance with standards and risk controls.
- Identify and address architectural and technical risks early.
- Support vendor selection, third-party risk assessments, and contract evaluations.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as an advisor to senior business and technology leaders.
- Engage with product owners and business heads; risk, compliance, legal, and information security teams; delivery leads, engineers, and vendors.
- Mentor Solution and Technical Architects and promote architectural best practices.
- Drive alignment across multiple programs and domains.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10–15 years of experience in technology delivery, with significant banking exposure.
- 5+ years in Solution Architecture or senior technical leadership roles.
- Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP) preferred.
- Architecture, security, or risk certifications (TOGAF, CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
