Job description
Senior Reservoir Engineer

Are you ready to drive reservoir performance across a diverse portfolio of Malaysian assets? We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our Subsurface department. This role is central to reserves assurance, long‑term forecasting, regulatory compliance and technical integration across operated and non‑operated fields.

Activities
  • Lead inputs for ARPR, AMIR and ARR reserves exercises, ensuring high‑quality documentation and technical justification.
  • Develop and update Prosper / MBAL / GAP models for new and existing fields, including acquisitions and non‑operated opportunities.
  • Build, maintain and routinely update the Sarawak Integrated Network Model, incorporating DCA, FRF, scout profiles and long‑term PHASER forecasts to support strategic decisions (QRs, MRs, Comgate).
  • Provide consistent production profiles to Surface Development, New Ventures, EXPLO and DRO teams for MPM and internal validation milestones.
  • Participate in ARPR/ARR engagements and support training and update workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with PETRONAS MPM regulatory frameworks, internal standards and SEC reserves guidelines.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with HQ Reserves, MPM, Subsurface teams and JV partners for alignment on reserves, LTP and budget exercises.
Candidate Profile

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geosciences or Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years in reservoir engineering, field development and field management. Experience in exploration, appraisal and data management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical strengths across operational and development reservoir engineering.
  • Proficiency in MBAL, GAP, PROSPER, PETREL and dynamic simulation workflows.
  • Broad understanding of Geophysics, Geology and Production Technology.
  • Effective communication in cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to mentor and support junior Reservoir Engineers.
