Senior Quantity Surveyor/Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage contract, costing, bidding, and procurement activities across projects. The role involves budgeting, cost monitoring, contract administration, procurement, team leadership, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in bidding, pre-contract, post-contract and costing activities to ensure corporate objectives are met.

Prepare quotations, pre-qualification and tender documents, and bidding proposals, particularly on the cost estimate.

Negotiation, administration, extension, termination, and re-negotiation of contracts/orders.

Evaluating received bids for conformity to contract requirements and preparation of recommendations and Letter of Acceptance.

Preparing the budget for individual projects and sub-packages and cost monitoring.

Sourcing and purchasing of construction related materials and products.

Tracking and analyzing market trends, compiling and computing cost data/factors, and advice on bidding and procurement strategies.

Prepare and submit progress claims and final accounts to the client, and to process the same from subcontractors/vendors.

Take off quantities from drawings and prepare bills of quantities.

Organizing meetings, preparing meeting records and coordinating/implementing agreed actions.

Lead, guide and train subordinates to perform their duties effectively and independently.

Implementing the company ISO system for filing and documentation etc for the QS team and the Contract Department.

Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, key subcontractor/vendors, stakeholders, etc.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including, marketing, engineering, and project team, to ensure seamless execution of business strategies which include contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.

Participate in activities to streamline/improve the Department’s performance.

Take initiative to follow up with client closely on payments. To avoid over pay to the subcontractors or supplier.

Identify and highlight contractual issues to the management to avoid any contractual dispute or pitfalls.

Assist the Project Manager to plan and monitor cash flow to ensure adequacy cash flow out and report to management on monthly basis.

Assist the Contract Manager in matters related to contract management, costing, bidding and procurement as follows.

Undertake other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

Recognized Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.

At least 4-6 years of working experience as Quantity Surveyor in the construction area.

Pleasant personality, initiative, good communication skills, a team player, hardworking and quick learner.

Proven experience in quantity surveying, contract management, and project cost control.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, procurement processes, and contract administration.

A candidate with fewer qualifications/experience may be considered for a less senior position.
