Job summary

A prominent construction firm in Puchong seeks a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage pre-contract and post-contract administration processes. Responsibilities include liaising with consultants, ensuring accurate measurements for Bill of Quantities and monitoring contract completion dates. Ideal candidates should have a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying and at least 6 years of experience, preferably in a developer or consultancy role. Strong skills in negotiation and cost analysis are essential for success in this position.

  • Experience with consultancy firms is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of current market pricing.

Job description

To execute pre-contracts and post-contracts administration processes and assist in cost control of projects.

Liaise with consultants on the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BQ) in accordance with tender drawings and specification provided.

Ensure measurement are accurate and timely completed for BQ, variation orders and final accounts.

To check and monitor site valuation and timely issuance of payment certificates in accordance with contract’s requirement.

Monitor and ensure that tender calling and award are in accordance with tender schedule.

Monitor and ensure all variation orders (VOs) are prepared and approved accordingly including compilation of all necessary documents.

Assist in timely preparation of budget monitoring report including updating of estimated final contract sum.

Prepare cost analysis based on latest market rate for cross checking of contractor’s tender rate.

Check and verify final account are done accordingly based on contract’s requirement including conduct negotiation and recommending final values for certification by Architects / Engineers.

Monitor completion dates for all contracts including getting contractor to renew performance bond and insurances.

Any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.

Minimum 6 years of working experience preferably with developer or consultant background.

Those who worked with consultancy firms is an added advantage.

Good and strong knowledge in pricing, estimating, cost plan analysis and familiar with current market price.

Possess good interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.

Able to work independently, efficiency to maintain high standards and accuracy.
