A leader who partners with senior leadership and owns priority program / project work, reporting to the Head, IT PMO. Responsibilities include driving, building, and growing future priority areas that align with organizational goals, interacting with stakeholders at all levels, implementing and iterating standard processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing thought leadership that influences change across the airline tech organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple IT‑related project streams and tasks simultaneously while influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal business partners.
- Lead cross‑functional project teams to ensure all deliverables and milestones are met on highly complex projects; own the project schedule and forecast.
- Monitor closely project resources, capacity planning, and utilization to support capacity estimation accuracy for current and future projects.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to set resource expectations and project success criteria.
- Accountable for stakeholder acceptance on key project deliverables.
- Govern project documentation, including scope control, risk and issue management, change control, and escalation management.
- Lead project cadence calls, including executive steering committees, and provide timely status and progress updates.
- Coach a team of 3‑5 project managers and oversee their deliveries based on agreed scope, timeline, and cost.
- Provide client relationship management throughout project delivery and facilitate transfer of project and client relationships to other internal teams.
- Govern change management (adoption and adaptation) as part of the project cycle.
- Prepare reports and hand‑on decks for top management.
- Demonstrate a self‑starter, self‑organized attitude in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of relevant IT experience and background.
- Demonstrated history of successfully owning and managing large, complex problems and engaging with cross‑functional teams and numerous stakeholders through influence.
- Solid experience using project management methodology, best practices, tools, and templates—including MS Project.
- Ability to identify the critical path and manage challenging situations in real time within a rapidly changing environment.
- Experience managing projects that reset due to scope changes or unforeseen challenges.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate and present effectively to all leadership levels.
- Proven ability to manage in demanding environments, including executive‑level persuasion skills.
- Disciplined risk and issue management expertise.
