Role Purpose

The Senior Product Manager supports the development, enhancement, and global deployment of DHL Express’s Retail Service Point Platform and its broader Retail Technology ecosystem. The role focuses on enabling consistent, efficient, and scalable retail processes through unified digital products, strong business and IT collaboration, and pragmatic AI-enabled capabilities. The role works closely with Retail Operations, Commercial, Finance, Data Analytics and AI, Enterprise Architecture, Business IT and vendors to ensure that partner and customer journeys, POS integrations, and store operational workflows are intuitive, stable, and continuously enhanced.

The Senior Product Manager contributes to requirements and user story definitions, testing, change coordination, and performance monitoring. The role actively supports AI use cases, such as forecasting, workflow assistance, process decision-support, and customer-facing digital interaction ensuring these are grounded in true retail needs and will deliver value to the business.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
1. Product Roadmap and Feature Delivery
  • Contribute to the definition and refinement of product roadmap(s).
  • Translate business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure retail processes and POS needs are captured and validated.
  • Support prioritization using data and stakeholder input.
2. Requirements Definition and Backlog Management
  • Draft functional and non-functional requirements retail workflows and integrations.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI lead on improving customer and partner journeys.
  • Maintain a structured backlog aligned with business and IT delivery plans.
3. Retail Technology Execution
  • Collaborate with IT teams on technical feasibility and requirement clarity.
  • Participate in sprint activities and solution reviews.
  • Support UAT, regression testing, and pilot deployments.
  • Coordinate with the regions and countries during pilot and subsequent global rollout.
4. AI-Enabled Use Case Support
  • Identify opportunities for practical AI enhancements (forecasting, staff guidance, agent and partner workflow optimization).
  • Work with Data Analytics and AI teams to define requirements and validate outcomes.
  • Ensure ethical and privacy considerations in AI-enabled features.
5. Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor platform performance and stability.
  • Analyze feedback and incident patterns to recommend improvements.
  • Support reporting of KPIs across retail performance and AI-supported outcomes.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain strong relationships with Retail Operations, Commercial, Finance, IT, and regional and country retail teams.
  • Communicate roadmap updates and feature changes clearly.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirement discussions.

This role supports the evolution and successful delivery of DHL’s Retail Technology — its attendant systems and processes. The ensures that retail partner and customer journeys, POS integrations, and store workflows are efficient, customer-friendly, and globally scalable. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, structured product delivery, and AI enablement to strengthen retail operational consistency and frontline performance.

Do you have what it takes?
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3–6 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or digital delivery.
  • Familiarity with retail operations, POS systems, and/or logistics workflows.
  • Practical understanding of AI/ML concepts, capabilities, and ability to support AI-enabled features.
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to translate needs into structured requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, multicultural teams; ideally at global level.
  • Experience with large-scale global change programs, retail service points, and/or retail technology.
  • Experience with data science or architecture teams.
  • Experience with or exposure to agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
