Job summary

A manufacturing company in Johor, Malaysia seeks an experienced engineer to create work instructions, develop tooling, and provide production support. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and has at least 5 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in metal or plastic environments. Strong skills in SolidWorks, project management, and communication in a multi-cultural environment are required. This role offers the opportunity to initiate continuous improvement projects and coordinate engineering activities for new product implementations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD.
  • 5 years minimum direct manufacturing experience in metal/plastic.
  • Advance English technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Create work instructions (WI, OMS), technical write-ups, etc., for production

Create PQR/WPS and coordinate bend/tensile test data for weldments

Design and develop tooling’s for manufacturing and quality needs

Approve manufacturing processes using statistical tools to control and minimize deviations

Coordinate with suppliers and contractors on technical purchases requiring engineering review or reverse engineering to meet the requirements

Coordinate and follow‑up on engineering activities for new product implementation

Provide engineering support and direction to production sections on manufacturing, quality and testing requirements

Work with production to review, analyze and resolve manufacturing, quality and cost issues

Support production on productivity improvement, cost reduction and other continuous improvement projects from time to time

Review process timings for new products and existing production operations to ensure that they are updated and current

Initiate cost or productivity improvements projects

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree, at minimum, in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic)

Proficient with SolidWorks or equiv CAD, 3yrs minimum experience. FEA analysis capability is a plus

5 yrs minimum of direct manufacturing experience in metal/plastic manufacturing environment

Advance communication and interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural work environment

Project management skills, intermediate level with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Advance English technical writing and communication skills
