The Job
The role is responsible for leading and transforming PCA’s procurement and logistics function with a strong focus on strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and centralization of procurement and logistics under PCA with focus on:
- Strategic sourcing and global supplier management
- Cost leadership and procurement-driven margin improvement
- Centralized procurement and logistics governance to enhance visibility, control, and operational efficiency
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement and logistics strategies across PCA to achieve sustainable cost savings, supply assurance, and operational excellence
- Drive centralized procurement and logistics governance, ensuring transparency of spend, process standardization, and alignment across business units
- Identify, analyze, and implement cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and sourcing optimization
- Develop and manage a reliable and competitive supplier base, including sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers
- Establish robust supplier risk management frameworks, including alternate sourcing strategies to ensure business continuity
- Partner closely with Operations, Finance, and Engineering teams to support business growth, margin improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor procurement and logistics KPIs, savings realization, and supplier performance to support management reporting and informed decision-making
The Candidate
- Degree in Business Studies, Economics, Engineering, or any relevant Technical discipline
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or multinational environment
- Strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost management at regional or global level
- Proven ability to manage centralized procurement models and contribute to P&L optimization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially MS Excel); experience with procurement or ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, project management, and presentation skills
- Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin speaking and writing is an added advantage due to communication with China suppliers
- Willing to travel and support overseas operations when required
