Senior Lead Engineer - Mechanical Design (Storage/ Server/ Network)
Summary

The candidate will be a member of the mechanical/thermal design team, responsible for delivering qualified mechanical design services to customers.

Detailed Description
  • Understand customer requirements and refine product specifications.
  • Provide design proposals and establish design goals and objectives for team review and approval.
  • Perform design analysis, including strength, tolerance, and kinematics analysis.
  • Optimize designs through FEA/CFD analysis, DFx review, and cost analysis.
  • Identify and resolve cross‑functional and cross‑discipline architectural issues.
  • Support technical proposal, planning, and cost estimation to aid initial quoting.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define prototype build strategy and support prototype builds.
  • Develop part/system test plans, perform prototype validation, system assembly checks/verification, issue analysis, and solutions.
  • Release part designs for tooling, support tooling build, and provide assistance during product manufacturing.
  • Interface with overseas counterparts, suppliers, manufacturing, and other internal departments.
  • Interface with overseas customers.
  • Support the manager in creating tools and processes that enhance organizational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of direct experience in electronic product mechanical design, including 5 years of product leadership.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering (educational requirements may vary by geography).
  • Experience in a multi‑disciplinary environment and multiple product development cycles.
  • Switch/communication product design experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of material properties, manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, stress analysis, thermal analysis, and kinematics analysis.
  • Familiarity with industrial standards and system‑level environmental compliance.
  • Understanding of thermal design, EMC, safety, and PCBA design.
  • Expertise in CAD design tools – Creo is mandatory; SolidWorks and AutoCAD are a plus.
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office software.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; ability to work in an international team.
  • Strong teamwork attitude, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Business travel possible, including overseas travel.
Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting, sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data, repetitive manual movements, and occasional travel.
